I bought a used Nikon 12-24 mm and it was well worth the investment. I imagine a 10-22 mm would even be better, although wide angles tend to distort somewhat the extra field of view makes it worthwhile.
To immatureradical, let's talk about respect! when you will done all the work and improve yourself and be a incredible teacher like Brian Peterson you will be able to let a respectful comment.
On the high end the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G is excellent. The Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 is less expensive but also very good. If you prefer a prime lens, consider the Nikon 20mm f/2.8. Basically, anything that gets you to 24mm or shorter would work.
In this video he talks about a wide angle lens on a cropped sensor camera. I just got a D600, any recommendations on a wide angle lens for a full frame sensor?
Enough about his hair. He went from long straight hair to bald and now curly… Anyone who has gone through chemo understands what's happened to his hair. Leave it alone you insensitive twits.
Regardless of what some of you have said, there is no substitute for an ultra wide angle lens in certain situations. My photography became more and more creative when I picked up my 10-22. Distance and composition matter more with these lenses. Lots of lessons learned, lots of great imaged made.

Isn't it the same thing to just take a few steps back with the 18mm?
I use a Tamron 10-24 f3.5-4.5 wide angle lens, then use DXO to correct distortion. This combination works great.

Wouldn't the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 be just as beneficial as the 12-24 f/4 and at half the price, how could I go wrong with it?

Thanks Bryan. And another vote for the Sigma 10-20mm – an epic lens. You have to be careful not to capture your feet 🙂
Tokina 11-16 2.8 !! 😀
Thanks Brian

but you can stand back and take the shot, it also shows 12mm when you are like a few more step back. Unless there isn't more room to move back. 🙂
I am currently quite happy with my 17-55mm lens. Great lens.
its growing back. We all dont know why he shaved it or lost it. But its slowly growing back.
Well that is a very interesting approach to the same problem. However the underlying principle is that the less of that you have to do the better.
I had a workshop with him once and he is really good at explaining and creativity. Really respect him and his CV is full of accomplishments.
That curly hair… EPIC!
Untill you have a wide angle and see how cool they capture the skys you just wont get it.
