That's what I was going to say is that they don't look that different. Kinda like I can take my D5 and yes it is built way better and is reliable to a fault, but I can take a D7100 and with the right lighting and post processing I doubt anyone can tell the difference between the two. Thanks Joey L. at first I thought you were just some young punk that didn't pay his dues and got put to the front of the line, but you work your ass off to get to the front, and I respect you for that.
Excellent reviews, thank you much! I agree with everything you said, but where the hell is Elinchrom ELB 400 set?! – Wireless triggering and power control via the Skyport system, or an iPhone or iPad via their wireless module. – Asymmetric 2:1 power output (A and B port) for two flash heads. – 424 watt/sec. – MOST IMPORTANTLY: it works with all Elinchrom diffusers and reflectors with the adapter. – TTL pre-flash slave eye sensing so it can be used in combination with TTL off camera flashes. All these (including a nice case) is for less than $2,200!!! All you need is to buy a decent Elinchrom softbox and two solid stands. Common! Do not tell me this is much worst than B1 or B2, please!
I'm looking for a portable battery operated lighting for the sony A7 series. I cant find anything that will let me attach the remote to the hotshoe and do a pnp. anyone have any suggestions?
One note about the PCB Einstein units: You can choose 1 of 2 modes with the unit, speed or color consistency. In the color consistency mode, you get a little longer flash duration, but you get very consistent light. In speed mode, you'll get a little less consistency, but really short flash duration ( 1/13,500 second (t.1) ) [full disclosure: I shoot with both Profoto (packs) and the Einsteins]
Good tip on the stands – one of the biggest mistakes I see.
Paul C Buff has the Cyber Commander which was available at the time of this video. Great job, sir! I do miss the weight of the larger older batteries. They provide a free sandbag weight for your stands. :)
Great video and thanks for providing this information! I have some Elinchrom modifiers and I'm thinking about getting a set of B1s. At 15:25 in the video, you show an adapter that looks like an EL26333, but it has a hole in it (which is used to insert the Elinchrom reflectors). On the shopping sites, the photos do not show the EL26333 with the hole in it. Did you modify the EL26333 and drill this yourself? I ask because I have quite a few Elinchrom reflectors (namely a beauty dish and a maxi spot), and I would like to continue to use these with the deflectors Elinchrom provides with their modifiers. The deflector is actually necessary to make the beauty dish functional. Can you provide a little insight on this? Thanks again!
sir with all the respect for your carrier and experience a what second cant define the output of light, you may have a 1200ws vs a 500ws but same output due the way the light is build :)
Thoughts on bare bulb kits? Obviously not as powerful and the quality of light can't compare, there are some pretty decent results and offer a more portable choice?
Really enjoy your work and personal projects like the one in Kurdistan and Ethiopia. This video is great explaining the pros and cons.
Just bought the Profoto B1 and would like to pursue a few personal projects abroad in PNG and similar locations. Maybe you can make a video just about "light modifiers" and compare them too? Many seem to be in the same price range but differ in setup time etc.

Eagerly waiting to hear your thoughts on Priolite lights. Please.
Great advice! But, your microphone sounds absolutely horrible
Why are you not a fan of Elinchrom lights?
Godox ad600 great lights game changer for the price.
Eagerly waiting on your review on the new Broncolor Siros L battery powered and also comparison with Profoto B1. Thanking you in advance.
Couldn't agree more regarding the use of proper c stands, how janky the broncolor modifier mounting system is.

Hey man nice video but with the Einstein, you can get the cybercommander and have full control over the strobe right from your camera

Can someone tell me the name of that stand that he was telling us about please so I can get it !!!?
He is young, Speedotron, & Novatron are the best the only downside is that is not water proof , like the broncolor.

What c-stands are good for on location shoots? Aren't they all too heavy?
thank you
Thanks great usefull job

This rules! Thank you for making this video!
How was the quality and Light color consistency of the Pro Photo B1?
As a newbie i want to thank you so much!
cc is color correction not color consistency.
