Hello! thanks a lot for this video, so useful. i wonder if you can help with a problem please. i have the SB700 and a nikon D7200, i following all the steps to configure the SB700 in external mode, and it's ok, but i can't deactivate the integrate flash in my camera. the SB700 works but the camera flash always flashes. the current mode on de camera settings is " built in flash / – – " and continue firing. what can i do? i hope you can help me
I just bought myself the SB 700 and I was actually wondering how to use the Zoom function. I can't seem to find some information about this. I'm shooting in TTL mode but I just don't get it?
When you take the white card out of the flash , thats only for catch light , the most light from the flash is still bouncing from the walls not from the card (maybe 10% from the card)
I just acquired a Lumix G5 (yes, that's an humble little mirrorless shooter) and I feel overwhelmed by the settings, the terms etc so I decided to go on a photo tutorial marathon and your videos are very interesting . Thank you for making them 🙂
And from what I can understand, appart for the less harsh, more diffuse lighting that indirect lighting offers with an SB, is that the light isn't coming from the front but from upward.. and very diffuse… just like the sun . Giving it a much more natural look, a kind of lighting we're naturally used to see everyday.
Also your wife has a very pretty figure .
(yes, I had to be that guy, commenting on another man's wife lol)
Thanks a lot for this video (superb for beginners such as I am). Just one question – how is it possible the TTL is able to measure the necessary power of the flash even if the flash is pointed to the ceiling / wall / umbrella, i.e. not pointing directly to the object you're going to take a picture of? Thanks.
What gets me is I understand that shutter speed controls ambient light. Why then when using a meter for manual flash exposure does it have you set shutter speed to ultimately achieve a F stop reading?
Thanks so much! I have the SB900 and will try it off camera. Nice informative video. Your wife, model is very beautiful too! You explained everything very well.

you have saved me
You forgot the SB-500…
You can adjust the height of the card also. Just push it back down partially. Works great.
Actually, I learn many things from this content but unfortunately you talk too much. I'm getting bored ! Anyway thanks :)
I was distracted by the models attitude
Good Video I leaned things. Thank You.
Is it just me or does she find her part in this tutorial less entertaining?
