Maybe I'm just a little conservative, but painting a glass or, as shown i another of your videos, scratching the bottom to create more bubbles… Well, I'd be very reluctant to do these things to anyone else's glasses, and I certainly wouldn't do them to my own. More or less ruining things just to take a picture really goes against the grain for me.
Some demands from clients made me steer towards still/product photography and these tips are unbelievable! I catch myself in awe when exposed to your expertise. Thank you so much!!!
Okay…. awesome tip here… I have a gig for a wine bottle, and i need it to pop better than the company was doing before… I'll be trying some of this out!
Heya, so many people who do these vids have an underlying tone that makes one feel pressured. They don't do it on purpose but 'Do it this way or die' just makes a person freak out, always striving for perfection on the first photo. I've been an artist for most of my life and decided to pick up my camera, turn it to manual and take the pictures I need for my work. wow.. so much to learn. But when watching and reading so much info on techniques you tend to just crash and burn. I found your lessons today. I've put the unicorns back in with the purple dragons and am starting to do that breathing thing again… Thanks a bunch for what you do.
Wow! I definitely learned some "tricks of the trade" in this video! Who would've thought putting tape on a subject could create a nice accent or "cheap" deodorant would diffuse unwanted reflections. Great video!
Experience! It shows, even for old dogs like us, new tricks! Thanks for sharing, great to see someone who knows what they are talking about. Best wishes, Phillip!
Hey, do you know "photo SFX art" (just search on Google for it …)? On their website you can watch a nice free video featuring the best way to shoot incredible pictures. It helped Daniel to shoot photos which leave you with a wow-effect when you look at them. It might help you out also…
Phil, very amusing and useful video! Thanx a lot for sharing, the simplicity of using tape for that bloody white line on the side of the bottle just killed me. This has been the reason for much beating around the bottle during some productions, i´ll try it as soon as i can (or bottle!). Cheeeeeers!
