I love 'contrejour' but what I noticed you have to have a good lens or else the CA sort of ruins your shots. Canon makes good lenses with red stripes on them.
Jessica's said in a past video she shoots between 200 and 250 just because she likes to. There's more than one way to shoot, guys. There's a world of images outside ISO 100, even in broad daylight lol.
Thank you so much for the info. I have a Nikon D3000 with a 55-200mm lens. I was wondering when I shoot people In front of a location such as a sign or just a location; I want to focus only on the model but completely blur the background, what settings do you recommend I use to do that? if someone can please help me thank you so much!
Let's be honest, is there seriously THAT much of a difference between 100 ISO and 250 ISO on a 5D M3…everyone please shut up about that. The beauty of photography is that there is no ONE right method. You do what works for YOU and for YOUR style. Art is subjective. Have your opinion on the final result but stop knit picking how she got there. We all do what works best for us. Youtube turns everyone into an instant troll for some reason and it drives me CRAZY. If you're not making tutorials yourself and you're on here telling her how to make hers then you have no real right. Her whole point is to show you what you can do with a simplistic set-up and not a crap ton of sophisticated gear. Do your thing Jessica! I've got your back.
Try reflecting sun light into the subject so you don't get a washed out(overexposed) background and she is still exposed correctly. Also desaturate and decontrast in your picture style settings to get more dynamic range and better post production results. :)
Thank you for the effort and sharing, but truly, it's a torture to listen to exactly the same things being repeated over and over and OVER again. This video could be like twice shorter.
Hey Jessica! The Photos to this shooting are great! Really like them. I've just got one question about the ISO. Is there a reason you use 200-250 ISO and turn up the shutter speed instead using a lower ISO and a lower shutter speed? Was just wondering(:
The backlighting was very pretty, but the model's face was dark. It would be better if she had used a reflector to give the model's face better lighting.
great tips, i need to get better at natural light at u are awesome. all it is is getting the light ink the right place and getting good focus which i always have trouble with
Why not use a single speedlight so you can pull the sky down darker in camera and then pop the model with a soft speedlight to fill in You would have the backlit plus some blue sky ????
the closer ups were the best the ones farther away were a bit so so because the problem is i think the bright sun and sky kinda just washed things out a bit but closer up was better 🙂 nice.
