Setting up in the sink, great idea! Easy cleanup, and easy to get in close. I had fun with this; completely drained the batteries on one of my flashes. :)
Hey there! Have you heard about – Pycane DSLR Camera Tricks (google it)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law shot some mind-blowing photos with it.
I did a similar experiment using my only flash EX 430 from Cannon, but I also used a tripod and a remote shutter. I think I took like 130 shots but at the end I walked away with 3 great shots!
Love the negative comments on a how to video that is just trying to help someone with tips, you always get the know it all chiming in. anyways for the rest of us do you have to have two flashes? and is your built in flash set to a specific setting? I have the Nikon D7100 and love it and want to explore this close up work. love your videos
Adorama in Chicago land area would be awesome. There isn't one right? I have learned so much over the last year and get my books and prints from adorama. Adorama rocks. Thanks Bryan
what's with the setting of the camera to commander mode BS ? if the flashes are in manual mode then they just react to the built in flash, my $180 Nissin Di622 MkII does the same thing with my Canon 550D, commander mode is used for TTL if i'm not mistaken.
Loved the technique and results, just not the inaccuracies, even the cheapest $80 Yongnuo could be used as an optical slave, no need for $500 SB900 or to tell it you're at f16
This will work with on camera flashes but not with stones like Dynalite or Profoto. Eienstien makes a mono pod flash that will work. The on camera flashes techno wise is built different and can capture motion better.
I've never understood why Bryan having such knowledge of photography and vast experience in the industry has these low quality videos.
Do not misunderstand me, the content is great but what's with the shaky hands of the cameraman? Too hard to use a tripod? At least now we can hear him, not like his earlier videos in Adorama where the audio was just horrible
Please keep it up Bryan, you have many good things to share with us but these little details can greatly improve your task as an instructor.
Great video Bryan! just out of curiosity what is the point of getting those sb910's if you use them always in manual mode? can't you use pocket wizards or even infrared trigger? Thanks!

Bryan is so awesome. Love the new hair and shirts. LOL.
Isn't it easier to put the camera on a tripod? In the other videos I've seen on this topic the photog has used one.
You forgot to mention the new hair cut Bryan lol

Always love your simple approach and you make it easy to do. Thanks for your energy. You rock…Chicago greatest place to live but I'm partial
I'd get 4 sb-25s
That really was moses, I could tell from the video frame, it's like the person filming is on a boat. I gues someone should call Adorama for a tripod.
Hi Bryan!! Awesome shot!!! What macro lens you have do you prefer to use?? Cheers!!
when film was uses 2 hours processing then dark room and drying proof – now
So, did the formerly wild hair go away with the shirts?
haii moses
Way to make Bryan push hard sell Adorama…
Let him be himself! Keep it up Bryan!
I love the emphasis on, "used to wear."

Lead the way B! On my way to try this. Thanks!
One SB 900 for 500$ and using only in manual?
Better get 4 Yongnuo 560 Mk.2 for 320$.
Not ttf set f16 then say you set power? Why set f16 if you going to set the power manually?
Great tutorial Bryan! like usual
Cheers
Meant to say strobes
