Hello! Thanks for the awesome review, it certainly looks like you've had a moment to put it through its paces! I was wondering if there is a way to remotely view the image, the way one could when using a GoPro? I'm looking to use this camera in some tight places, and would like to be able to mount my camera in a corner, and frame up by viewing through my cell phone. Thanks!
Definitely the camera I want but sadly 4x my budget so bought the Sony WX500 to get ball rolling, gotta start somewhere right although still not confident on camera so why spend big now just to struggle and lose interest
i've been googling all day for "best value camera in 2018" and it seems that the a6000 is ranked really high. Could you tell me if i should just get the rx100v instead. I understand there's a big price gap but I'm torn between paying cheap for a decent camera? Or just get the rx100v for 2018? any tips is appreciated!
Sony has surpassed Canon in making the world's most expensive point & shoot cameras for beginners and amateur to use after they upgraded from Apple Iphone X or Samsung S10.
But in reality, point and shoot cameras are dead like APS film cameras.
Any fools going to buy the world's first expensive camera with a 8.8mm {it's never (25.4mm = 1 inch), like many are saying it is} to over $2,000 USD (don't forget flash and ton of batteries)? Then Sony got the DSC-RX100 IV with a slow F4.0 Japan Zeiss lenses.
Did Sony happen to give you a promo code? I'll probably buy one as a result of this video and it would be nice for them to know that the you guys were the deciding factor in my purchase.
Justified advertisement for the little SONY. I bought it myself and love it as a companion (not replacement) of a big rig Canon DSLR on our travels. But some buts remain: The body and the buttons are tiny, making it clumsy to operate especially if you want to use manual settings. I also really, really miss a touchscreen, e.g. to set a focus point. Absolutely awesome is the electronic viewfinder though. In short: I think the RX100 is pretty much perfect for video. For photos it's great if you have the time to fiddle with its settings (e.g. landscape pictures) or just automatic point and shoot. For real action shots and full control, I prefer a hefty DSLR with big a$$ buttons that I can operate blindly at a fraction of a second. That said, great channel Vagabrothers.
“S-Log 2, which is Sony’s RAW video format” No. No it is not. It is Sony’s Log video format. Log is great. It does not compare in the slightest to RAW video. Log is for color grading. RAW is omnipotent. Don’t be confused between them.
I have a Nikon D5200 a few nice lenses, tripod and external flashlight…I "collected" all this stuff the last few years (my teenage years boiii). I have been a lot into photography and my equipment is hella heavy. Next year I will travel the world and – of course – don't want to take all this heavy equipment with me. Will I sell all my equipment to get the Sony? Can it keep up with a good DSLR equipment?

Does it not have overheating issues when shooting in 4K?
Should I buy this or use my qx1 and a6300
What about the Canon G7X mark II? It's cheaper!

I bought the version 1 n 3 Sony RX100. the version 1 was stolen in a airport in Malaysia.
you got to get 5 batteries for this cameras, and multiple batt charger, this camera is battery hog.
I'm curious how much of what you used here was shot with the camera you're promoting. All of it? Props for great quality video in all your posts.
Can you do another video on a compact mirror less.and how it compares in compactness, versatility to the rx100.
Sorry didn't understand, it to underwater too?
This or Panasonic LX100?

how can the x3000 have a mic jack and the rx100 doesn't?
Sony a6300 cheaper, bigger sensor, interchangeable lenses.
Sighhhh… If only Alpha line has flip screen for selfies too… I'd totally get it.
